Chi alpha. What it has done to me… In Erie our ministry has brought me closer to God, more willing to be a leader when it comes to things with God, I have learned to pray harder, and not be scared, and I have made a lot of friends that are willing to share with me and listen when I have a struggle.
I love the music and the talks are amazing and easy to learn from.
I’ve been going to Erie Chi Alpha for almost 3 years now! Its truly what I look forward to every week! And even though it took me a while to really actually make friends, now that I have, I love them all So much! I’m so glad I have a place where I can fellowship with other people who also love the Lord! Its so great to see a lot of them who have such servants’ hearts! What an awesome blessing we are part of!
Oh Chi Alpha… Well to truely put into words all that Chi alpha has done, is doing, and will do; would take a full length novel. So i will try to shrink my thoughts.
Chi Alpha is more than a place to come on thursday nights.(even though i plan my week around thursday nights) It is an outlet where young adults, seeking after God’s glory, are able to come and seek together. WE are able to praise, rejoice, mourn, grow, live, strengthen, and much more. Here we see a generation, my generation, seeking after a God who loves us. And the great thing is….God is seeking us too. Chi alpha is a way to grow and mature with an everlasting, all preasent God.
I truely believe that I would not have grown as much as I have in Christ if it were not for Chi Alpha. It is the highlight of my week. I make plans around Chi Alpha! I have found friends and a sense of true purpose through what God is doing in the ministry. I feel that this is a place where I can be completely comfortable with who I am yet be lovingly convicted of my sins enough to make myself even better. I have never found a more powerful place and I am so excited to continue to see how God uses this ministry and all a part of it!
The first time I went to Chi Alpha I was so scared that I almost did not walk in. I remember sitting in the parking lot wondering if I should walk through the doors or not. I was worried that I was to broken, that because I did not have an inmate relationship with Jesus that I would be judged. I was scared that I would not be accepted and that I would feel like an outcast. I know now that it was GOD’s grace that got me through the doors that first night, and I was faced not with ridicule but with openness, complete strangers wanted to know my name and know about me.
The people at Chi Alpha have helped me grow closer to GOD and have helped me better understand his son Jesus. I have never felt judged or less of Christian. Chi Alpha has taught me how to pray, through song, words and actions. Without Chi Alpha I do not believe I would have the relationship with GOD that I do. Through Chi Alpha I have created friendships that I cherish and an “Erie” family that is so important when you are far away from home.
Chi Alpha has radically changed me and guided me in growing stronger in my faith than ever before!
The first time I went to Chi Alpha I wasn’t sure if I cared for it (simply because it was more of an off night and I didn’t stick around to get to know many people) but then a little over a year ago I gave it another chance and then I couldn’t stop going after that.
It was hard for the longest time though in getting to know people, especially because friendship was a big need in my life because of the transition of coming back home after college where few of my friends lived. Yet God provided as a perservered to take time to get to know people, eventually getting to know people more than ever after attending the Chi Alpha canoe trip in August of 2010.
Today God has provided me way more than I could have imagined friendship wise, spiritually, and led me in ministries that have brought so much joy, encouragement, and challenge in my life. I am very grateful to have given Chi Alpha a second chance (and that brother Kyle and Nate Johnson encouraged me to come check it out).
Chi Alpha has literally changed me! I have been going to Chi Alpha now for.. almost a year? WOAH!
Before knowing anything about Chi Alpha or any other group on campus I was really afraid for college in general because I thought that I would stray from God. But I have become CLOSER to God in college and that is because I learned about Chi Alpha and because of the amazing people I have met there! I was very afraid the first time I went because I knew only a few people, and now I know alot of the people there and everyone is so friendly. Most of all though, I love the worship. I can feel God’s presence nearly everytime. It is the most amazing feeling in the world.
I just finished my freshman year at Edinboro. I barely had any friends, and was very depressed and was highly considering transferring. Then one week, my friend invited me to go to Chi Alpha with her. It sounded great, similar to my youth group at home.
I was wrong…it was BETTER than my youth group at home! The music is incredible and the teachings hit close to home and help me to evaluate myself and my relationship with God.
I have made amazing friendships through Chi Alpha, and it became something that I looked forward to every week! I seriously can not wait for fall to come so I can start going again!
Chi Alpha has been a blessing to me and I am truly thankful for its ministry and the people who are apart of it!
Chi Alpha is a place where God is glorified in the big and little things of life. Chi Alpha is a safe place where people travel life together. Sometimes, life is messy and Chi Alpha is that support system that makes the messy times a little more bearable. For me, Chi Alpha means friends. Before Chi Alpha, I had one true friend. The amazing friendships I have found at Chi Alpha have truly changed my life. These friendships have helped me grow in faith and in trust. These relationships are priceless! Thanks Joel & Nichole!
I can honestly say that if it wasnt for Briana Carner introducing me to chi alpha, i wouldnt be who i am now. I love coming every week. just the feeling i get when i come is incredible. i feel as though i am closer to god now and plan to keep deeping my faith with him. I have such amazing friends that i have made there and who are there for you in times of struggle and pray with you. i honestly have never had any true friends til i came to chi alpha.
What can I say about Chi Alpha….well just the fact that Chi Alpha has changed my life since coming here. And since coming here i’ve met some amazing people and become really awesome friends with. I really couldn’t ask for better friends. And the worship is absolutely amazing. Through Chi Alpha i have grown stronger in my walk with God, pray and read my bible alot more. It surprises me til this day how close I’ve gotten in life with my faith thanks to Chi Alpha. I also would like to thank Joel and Nichole for the things they do to keep Chi Alpha going each and every week. Without you guys, I wouldn’t be the christian I am today. You guys just do so much for eveybody, that it’s become like a real blessing that i have gotten to meet you two and have you in my life. Thanks!!!!
